Town of Sozopol, the southern coastline of Bulgaria
Sozopol is located on the southern coastline of Bulgaria 35 km from the city Burgas and 50 km from the airport Burgas.Nowadays, there’s a variety of hotels and villas which offer various services and types of accomodation.
There are loads of different cafes in Old Town and New Town.
There’re three ports here, fishing port, passenger port and yachting port.
The yachting port Marina Sozopol is the biggest one on the Bulgarian coastline.

95% of the beaches in Sozopol are sandy beaches and it it a big advantage. On the territory of the town there are the beach Zlatna Ribka (Golden Fish), the beach Santa Marina, the town beach, Harmani Beach, the Beach Budzaka and the Beach Kavatsi.

Sozopol is a unique, diverse and unbelievably beautiful town with the long history. Since the time of ancient Thracians, about 7 thousands years ago in the place of Sozopol ancient civilisations were flourishing.
The most famous Thracians sanctuaries and the places of power which can be visited and watched are the Thracian sanctuary Beglik Tash, the Thracian Fortress and the Sanctuary Ranuly and the Lisaya Mountain known in Bulgarian as Bakirlik which means "copper mountain".
On the Lisaya Mountain the ancient Thracians mined copper and it was one of the main reasons why ancient Greeks came there.
The second reason is the fact that Sozopol and the bays of Sozopol were the most close natural harbours at that time.
On the place where the Old Town is located, ancient Greeks built the first Town Apollonia named after God Apollo.
It was founded in 7th century AD. It was a town-state. It flourished and grew until 1st century AD and the next 7 centuries Apollonia turned into the most powerful state
on the Bulgarian coastline.

Arts Festivals in Sozopol
